Cuba has the Oldest Population in Latin America

Cuba has over two million people that are more than 60 years of age, 19 percent of the total inhabitants, and it is the first Latin American country with the oldest population, announced an expert in Havana on April 28.

The Cuban Five: Honorary Members of UNEAC

The Association of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC) conferred on Monday the status of honorary members to the five Cuban antiterrorists who suffered unjust imprisonment in the United States. It was conferred during a meeting attended by Miguel Diaz-Canel, member of the Political Bureau of the Cuban Communist Party and First Vice-president of the councils of State and Ministers.

Over 1.2 million Cubans were called to vote at the second round of municipal elections in 1.166 electoral districts, in all 149 Cuban municipalities needing to complete the total of local government representatives.
