Cubans residing in Europe urged the US Congress to lift the economic, commercial and financial blockade that Washington has maintained against their nation for over 50 years now.
Members of the Asia, Caribbean and Pacific Group (ACP) declared themselves at the European Parliament to be in favor of the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said that the blockade against Cuba should be eliminated, because it would help the people of the Caribbean island, the Cubasi Web site reported.
The members of the 22nd Latin American and Caribbean Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba backed on Thursday the struggle of the Caribbean island for the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than half a century now.
We will continue working with people of good will in the U.S. so Congress eliminates the blockade against Cuba and we normalize relations, said Reverend Jim Winkler, President of the National Council of Churches of that country (NCC).
