Cuban prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso traveled on Thursday to Mexico to inaugurate the first course of the Dance Department of Cuba’s National Ballet Company (BNC), in the southeastern part of that nation.
The director of the company, acknowledged as one of the main troupes at a world level, will receive on Friday the certificate as distinguished guest and the keys to the city of Veracruz, Cubasi reported on November 10.
The BNC told Prensa Latina that the professor will inaugurate on November 12 the first intensive course of the Dance Department, scheduled to run until November 22.
During her visit to Veracruz, Cuba’s most universal ballerina will receive numerous tributes.
On this occasion, Alonso has been invited to Mexico by the municipal president of the City Council of Boca de Río, Miguel Ángel Yunes, in coordination with the National System for the Comprehensive Development of Families, headed by Patricia Lobería.
