The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, met with a delegation of members of the House of Representatives of the United States, headed by Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi and made up by Representatives Elliot Engel (New York), Rosa DeLauro (Connecticut), Collin Peterson (Minnesota), Anna Eshoo (California), Nydia Velázquez (New York), Jim McGovern (Massachusetts), Steve Israel (New York), and David Cicilline (Rhode Island).
Participants in the meeting, held in Havana on February 18 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focused on topics of interest on the current context of bonds between the two nations, including the reestablishment of diplomatic relations and the opening of embassies, as well as the debate in Congress to lift the U.S. blockade against Cuba, according to a report by the Cuban News Agency.
