The General Secretary of the Association of Caribbean States, June Soomer, arrived in Cuba Sunday, September 4 on a working visit.

According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Soomer will hold talks with Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez.

Soomer, a Saint Lucian, was elected the first woman generally secretary of the Association of Caribbean States during the 7th Summit of that regional bloc, held last June in Havana.
