Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Vice-president of the councils of State and Ministers, received Nancy Pelosi, Democratic Party leader in the House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress, who headed a delegation of congresspersons of her Party that visited Cuba for three days starting from February 17.
Also participating at the meeting, held on February 19, were representatives Elliot Engel, for New York; Rosa DeLauro, for Connecticut; Collin Peterson, for Minnesota; Anna Eshoo, for California; Nydia Velasquez, for New York; Jim McGovern for Massachusetts; Steve Israel, for New York; and David Cicilline, for Rhode Island, as well as the General Director of the United States Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Josefina Vidal, and other officials of the Foreign Ministry, ACN reported.
Participants in the meeting focused on process the process of updating of the Cuban economic model, the Cuba-U.S.A. relations, and prospects of debates in the U.S. Congress on the lifting of the blockade.
