The President of the councils of State and Ministers, Army General Raúl Castro, met on March 12 with Paolo Gentiloni, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic, who is on an official visit to the Caribbean island.

During their meeting, Raul and the Italian FM focused on the favorable development of bilateral relations and verified the willingness to expand economic and cooperation exchanges between the two nations. They also tackled topics of mutual interest on the international agenda.

Undersecretary of State Mario Giro accompanied the visitor, while Cuba was also represented at the meeting by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez.
