The President of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Army General Raúl Castro, received Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Wang Yang, who is on an official visit to Cuba.

During the meeting, held on June 25 in this capital, the two leaders verified the good state of bilateral relations and welcomed the strengthening of diplomatic bonds between the two countries, dating back to 55 years, RHC Reported on Thursday.

Wang Yang, also member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party, held official talks with the Vice-president of the Council of Ministers, Ricardo Cabrisas, and after paying tribute to Cuba’s National Hero José Martí at the memorial named after him in Havana, the Chinese Deputy PM was also received by the Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca.

The distinguished visitor will stay on the island until June 27th and then will travel to Brazil.
