The population located in isolated mountainous areas in the province of Cienfuegos received on Wednesday the Draft Constitution of the Republic of Cuba which began its sale in post offices and newsstands.
Nurse Carmen Hidalgo in the village of La Sierrita in the mountainous municipality of Cumanayagua told ACN that the document was well received when the neighbors gathered early in the morning to purchase a copy.
Sales manager of the community post office, Lismaidy Gutierrez said that 100 copies were delivered while the trucks drove to the mountainous areas towards Cuatro Vientos and Sopapo to distribute more volumes of the text, printed in a tabloid form by the Federico Engels Graphic Arts Company in Havana.
Both communities are located some 700 meters above sea level, they are mainly coffee plantation areas with difficult access.
The Sales Director of the Provincial Post Office Company in Cienfuegos, Josvany Bedoya Gonzalez, said that 21 thousand 800 copies were assigned to the territory, figure already distributed in 8 municipalities where 37 centers are found.
He said that Cumanayagua was prioritized, only mountainous municipality of the province where a tabloid per every 17 inhabitants was distributed.
The Sales specialist of the entity, Marisel Gonzalez Fernandez commented that they will reinforce the sale in the main city in 9 kiosks and outside of the Central Post office.
With a tabloid in the hands of every resident of Cienfuegos, they will have the opportunity to review the content of the proposal and prepare for the national public debate, which will begin, from August 15th to November 15th.
