Raúl Castro Receives Secretary General of South African Communist Party

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, Army General Raúl Castro, met with the Secretary General of the South African Communist Party, Blade Nzimande, who is on an official visit to Cuba.

During the cordial meeting on Monday afternoon, they exchanged views on the excellent state of the historic relations of fraternity and cooperation between both parties and governments, and on other issues on the international agenda, ACN reported on December 21.

Accompanying the distinguished visitor was Solly Solomon Mapailla, Politburo member and second secretary of the Communist Party of South Africa, while Cuba was also represented at the meeting by Salvador Valdés, Politburo member and vice president of the Council of State; and José Ramón Balaguer, member of the Central Committee’s Secretariat and head of its Department of International Relations.
