Raúl Castro to Meet with Vladimir Putin on Thursday

The working agenda in Moscow of the President of the Cuban councils of State and Ministers, Raúl Castro, where he’s now on an official visit to participate in activities scheduled on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism, includes a meeting on Thursday with the Russian head of state, Vladimir Putin.

Raúl told Russian Prime Minister Dimitri Medvedev on Wednesday that he couldn’t miss the celebration, for the deep friendship that has always united Cuba and Russia, the www.radireloj.cu Web site reported on May 7.

Medvedev said he was grateful for the presence in Moscow of faithful friends like Raúl, and recalled his visits to Cuba and his meetings with him and with Commander in Chief Fidel Castro.

The Russian leader told the Cuban President that there will be many interesting things in the parade programmed for Saturday at Red Square, like airplanes, helicopters, and armored vehicles, some of which will be shown for the first time, he concluded.
