An item, as a result of Cuban biotechnology, still in its first steps in the national medical arsenal. It goes on showing, more and more, the outstanding and far-reaching benefits of its application. It is about Hebervital, evaluated only some days ago in a forum with seat in Havana, where the present advantages and new clinical research on the drug came out.
Hematologists, oncologists, orthopedists, stomatologists, intensive-care physicians, and specialists of other branches of medicine, check day after day the potentiality of this drug, applied fifteen years ago in the health national system, with very important impact in different pathological processes.
Hebervital, developed by the Center of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIBG), is indicated for the treatment to patients who receive chemotherapy, radiotherapy, bone-marrow transpants, and to immunosuppressed people. It is is also applied to patients with antecedents of serious or ricurrent infections. Among its benefits, it includes the use of antibiotics and the frquency of hospitalization.
According to experts, the drug is a stimulant factor of front line in support to therapy against cancer, since it increases the number of stem cells, which are later collected in order to inflitrate them. Its application makes possible to complete the therapeutic scheme of chemotherapy and radiotherapy in oncologic patients, what brings about a better efectiveness of the treatment, and, therefore, more life quality for the sick.
To these above-mentioned uses are added the efficiency of Hebervital in the treatment of liver cirrhosis, of distal arterial insufficiency, in pathologies of uncovered knee and hip joints, hematological disorders, in skin lesions, alopecia and scars, acne in young people, among other ailments.
In the first national meeting related to extension in the use of said drug, taking place at the beginning of this month, it was undeniably demonstrated how its perspectives of use go up, for the satisfaction of those who have at our reach, without class distinction, the development of pharmacology in the Island.
