Some important changes have taken place in the bilateral relations; yet, last week the US Government through Samantha Power, its representative in U.N reaffirmed its false accusations related to alleged violations to human rights in Cuba.

We, Cubans, are not quite satisfied with the quality of the rights we enjoy, but we do enjoy fundamental rights, which are only a dream for most of humanity, even for the very own US citizens.

Undeniable universal indicators show it; such as,  infant death rate of 4,2 for every thousand  born alive, similar to that of most developed countries; life expectancy of almost 79 years for men; women representing more than 81, figures only achieved by a quarter of the world population.

We enjoy free health services, of well-known quality for all.

The whole of our children receive a vaccination program which protect them again 13 diseases, which has permitted also, eradicate other nine illnesses.

Cuba is among the countries with a high human development, according to the UN Program for Development.

We have universal and free education, in all levels, with recognized quality, when most of the humanity still fights for literacy of the grown-ups, and the access to the elementary education for their children.

In the last fifty years the Cuban universities graduated more than a million professionals, and have become centers of research producers of scientific results of a social and economic impact.

Our special education is of international reference.

We all have the right to a free creative and communicative access to the widest expressions of culture and sports, a policy directed to not losing any talent.

The State and the Cuban people make efforts for guaranteeing a healthy environment; for example, the forested surface covers practically a third of the country, thanks to the reforestation program developed in the last fifty years.

All Cubans have access to a decent and safe job, with full guarantee of labor rights, either in the state sector, or in the growing non-state sector, included disabled people with enough abilities.

Social security protects all workers in age to retire, to those with a subsidy for sickness or accidents, to those suffering a partial disability, to the family members of workers with a serious accident, or death, and to mothers recurred to the Maternity Law.

Social work guarantees food and care for those in need; either elderly, disabled or children without family protection.

Our democracy is transparent and communicative:  the voters themselves and the delegates they chose nominate the candidates to deputies, and these propose the candidates to the principal posts for the State and Government.

The elections are direct, secret, with universal right to egalitarian vote.

In all electoral processes which have been held since l976, more than 95% of the
Voters have participated.

It is true that we are not totally satisfied with the quality of the rights which we enjoy, but the US Government is not morally qualified to question us, because they do not guarantee those rights to their citizens.
