Another Victory of Cuban Bruzón in Gibraltar

Cuban Lázaro Bruzón won on Friday his game in the fourth round of the Gibraltar Open Chess Tournament, with of 3.5 points he ranks 12 on a lost headed by Austrian Marcus Ragger and French Etienne Bracot.

Bruzón played with the white pieces and defeated his rival, German Florian Handke, in 45 moves of a Nimzo Indian defense and shares accumulated points with 13 contestants, including stars Maxime Vachier-Lagrave of France, Dmitry Jakovenko of Russia and Radoslaw Wojtaszek of Poland, ACN reported on January 30.

Indian S. P. Sethuraman tied with Vachier-Lagrave, while Slovenian Luka Lenic did the same with Jakovenko and Wojtaszek beat Russian Pavel Tregubov.

The other Cuban competing in the tournament, Rodney Perez, was defeated by Spaniard Pablo Almagro and ended with scarcely two points in position 105 among the over 200 participants.
On Saturday, Bruzón will face Indian Harika Dronavalli, also owner of 3.5 points and placed eighth by way a decider.
