Cuban Manrique Larduet won on Sunday his second medal in the 46th World Artistic Gymnastics Championship in Glasgow, Scotland, after obtaining the bronze metal in the finals of the horizontal bar competition, with 15,600 points.
Larduet, who minutes before had finished fifth in parallel bars, managed to get to the awards podium in horizontal bars, thus achieving the longed for qualification to his first Olympic Games, which will have the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro as venue next year, ACN reported on November 1st.
The official Web site of the event reflects that the title of the competition corresponded to extraordinary Japanese gymnast Kohei Uchimura (15,833), who achieved his third gold medal in this championship, while U.S. athlete Danell Leyva (15,700) walked away with silver.
