The Cuban women’s team lost in four sets to Puerto Rico at the Bicentenario Auditorium in Morelia, Mexico, in the quarterfinal stage of the Volleyball Final Four NORCECA Olympic Qualification Tournament.

According to the website of the event, the Puerto Ricans won on Wednesday the first two sets, with partials of 25-20 and 25-14 and lost in the third 25-27, materializing victory in the fourth, 25-18, when a hour and 45 minutes of the game had elapsed, ACN reported on October 1st.

Meanwhile, the winner of the Canada-Mexico game will play in the semifinals against the Dominican Republic, and the loser will play vs. Costa Rica with the same goal of Cubans.

The discussion of the gold and bronze medals will take place on Friday, which positions from fifth to eighth will be defined.

The first four places in the tournament qualify for the Final Four, and the winning team will get the ticket for the 2016 Summer Olympics of Rio de Janeiro, while the occupants of the second and third positions will play in repechage events.
