The Cuban duos made up by Sergio González and Nivaldo Diaz and Yanisleidis Sánchez and Lidiannis EcheverrÃa won gold medals at the eighth stage of the Beach Volleyball Circuit of the North, Central American and Caribbean Confederation (NORCECA).
At the Barcelo Solymar Arenas Blancas Hotel in Varadero, González and DÃaz defeated in the finals on Sunday Canadians Michael Plantinga and Cameron Wheelan, 2-1 (21-13, 19-21, 15-13), ACN reported on July 18.
DÃaz told the press that this result is very important because it is the last chance to compete before doing so in the Rio Olympics.
Sánchez and EcheverrÃa beat U.S. players Betsi Flint and Kelley Larsen 2-1 (13-21, 21-19 and-10), who won the silver medal.
