Cuban Leuris Pupo, London 2012 Olympic champion in sports shooting, expressed his satisfaction with his stay in Tampa, Florida, where he traveled at the invitation of the Federation of that sport in the United States.
The top figure of that discipline on the Caribbean island, champion in London, specializing in rapid fire pistol at 25 meters, considered useful his training for the summer event in Rio de Janeiro this year, ACN reported on January 6.
Speaking to the provincial Radio Angulo radio station of Holguin, he said that in February he will return to that U.S. city to continue his training, until late March.
Voted top male athlete in individual sports in 2015 in HolguÃn, Leuris Pupo is currently the only qualified athlete of the eastern territory for Rio de Janeiro.
Pupo said that in April he will begin his preparatory stage with a view to his participation in the different stages of the World Cup -top event prior to the Olympic Games in Rio.
