Cuban pole-vaulter Yarisley Silva obtained on Thursday the silver medal in the penultimate stop of the Athletics Diamond League, which has the Swiss city of Zurich as venue.

Silva managed to exceed the height of 4.72 meters in the pole vault, the same result obtained by Brazilian Fabiana Murer, so they were both tied for second place; while Greek Nicoleta Kyriakopoulou (4.77) won the title, with which she added eight points and now totals 24.

Murer, with 14 points, and Silva (11) follow the leader of that competition, both of them without options to reach the top position, when only the last stop on this strong athletic event remains, on September 11 in Brussels.

Also on Thursday in Zurich, Cuban Rose Mary Almanza was disqualified in the 800- meter dash finals.
