Cuban sprinter Leinier Savón won on Thursday the gold medal in the 100 meters T12 category, in the athletics competition of the Paralympic Games under way in Rio de Janeiro.

Savón, world champion in the 100 and 200 m. in Doha, Qatar, in 2015, won in the finals of the hectometer event with a time of 10.97 seconds, ACN reported on September 15.

In that race, South African Jonathan Ntutu (11.09), and German Thomas Ulbricht (11.39), won the silver and bronze medals respectively, as reported by the official Web site of the Games.

So far, Cuba has four titles, one silver and six bronze medals won in Brazil.
