Cuban President Raul Castro met on Saturday, September 26, with former U.S. President Bill Clinton as part of his busy schedule in New York, where he participates in high-level forums of the United Nations.
The Cuban leader and the former Democrat head of State, occupant of the White House from 1993 to 2001, spoke at a New York hotel on several topics, including aid to Haiti, ACN reported.
The President of the councils of State and Ministers, Army General Raúl Castro, met on Friday with the mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio, and Swedish Prime Minister Kjell Stefan Löfven, at the headquarters of Cuba’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations.
Since his arrival in New York on Thursday, the Cuban head of state has carried out a wide range of activities within the context of the summit on 2015-2030 sustainable development objectives.
On Friday, Raúl spoke with the presidents of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro; and Mozambique Filipe Nyusi; the New York governor, Andrew Cuomo; and U.S. congresspersons.
Earlier on Saturday, he exchanged greetings with the Chinese head of state, Xi Jinping, after their speeches in the second day of the summit.
